The primary objective of this collaboration is to introduce the groundbreaking Golden Boy Index, a tool that will reform the player selection process by leveraging data and analytics-driven methodology.

Developed by Football Benchmark, the Golden Boy Index methodology comprises three core pillars, accompanied by an additional "bonus" metric that rewards players who had exceptional performances in their national teams and/or UEFA club competitions. All three pillars adhere to a standardized scale ranging from 1 to 100. By calculating the weighted average of the individual values of each pillar and subsequently adjusting the outcome with the bonus metric, the Golden Boy Index ensures a comprehensive evaluation of player potential.

The three pillars that constitute the Golden Boy Index are as follows:

Sporting Performance: evaluating players based on their on-field contributions, taking into account various performance metrics and indicators.

Playing Time: assessing a player's involvement by calculating the percentage of minutes they were on the pitch for their teams out of all possible minutes. by

Club Strength: evaluating the quality and on-pitch strength of the club the player represents, recognizing their ability to thrive in demanding environments.

In order to be considered for selection in the Golden Boy top 100 list, a player must have been born in 2003 or later and must currently belong to a club in one of the top 25 domestic leagues of Europe (based on UEFA coefficients).

The Golden Boy Award, one of the most prestigious awards in world football, has previously been bestowed upon illustrious talents such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland. This legacy of recognizing exceptional young players who then went on to have great success in their careers further solidifies the importance and credibility of the Golden Boy Index.
